This page is dedicated to the pursuit of sustainability in business.
In engaging in and growing Tribal Grounds we aim to bring into action our beliefs in joining culture and commerce, the need to make a living and sustainability.
A variety of things may be listed here as we develop it further. We will start off with some handy links that businesses and individuals can use as tools to run their busineses and lives more sustainably. We ourselves are in the process of developing more sustainable practices every day. As we find useful resources, we will share them with you.
We will also use this page as a list of businesses on the Qualla Boundary and select businesses beyond. This list will not be comprehensive. We may include a business in the listing because we patronize the business. In general we will list tribal member owned business, unique and independent business that respect Cherokee culture, places we or locals love, businesses that contribute to the community, businesses that carry (at least 70%) authentic Cherokee/Native American arts and other goods and businesses that represent the tribe in a historically acurate and thoughtful way.
We will note in a listing (when we know) if a business:
--is owned by a Tribal Member
--is TERO Certified (Native American certified)
--is owned by a member of the community
--is independently owned and operated
--holds sustainable or other noteworthy certifications
--if there is something unique about it that draws our attention.
